New monkey discovered

Scientists are claiming they have discovered a new species of monkey living in the remote forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo -- an animal well-known to local hunters but until now, unknown to the outside world. In a paper published Wednesday in the open-access journal Plos One, the scientists describe the new species that they call Cercopithecus Lomamiensis, known locally as the Lesula, whose home is deep in central DR Congo's Lomami forest basin. The scientists say it is only the second discovery of a monkey species in 28 years.

In an age where so much of the earth's surface has been photographed, digitized, and placed on a searchable map on the web discoveries like this one by a group of American scientists this seem a throwback to another time.

Can you ever fly a Dana Airline

I noticed sometime last week that the Federal Government lifted the suspension of the operating license of Dana Airlines following the crash of its aircraft on June 3, in Lagos that killed all 153 passengers on board. The statement said that the lifting of the suspension followed the Federal Government's satisfaction with the air-worthiness of the airline's planes after a rigorous technical, operational and financial audit of the company.

My question now is, can you ever fly a Dana Airline??

Mother Shaves Numbers on Heads of Identical Quadruplets

A Chinese mother of identical quadruplets has taken an unusual step to help people avoid confusing her children with one another: giving them numerically shaped haircuts. "My sons are identical, even to me," their mother, Tan Chaoyun said. "Even now, their father can't tell which one is which."

However, Chaoyun says the unusual haircuts were done mostly to help the teachers and fellow students identify their six-year-old children. Teachers at the school reportedly said that the numerical haircuts have had a positive effect. LMFAO

Evangelist Helen Ukpabio Attacks Prophet TB Joshua

The the General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B. Joshua has really faced some noisy controversies this period, but while one thinks everything was subsiding, another one has cropped up. The founder of the Calabar-based Liberty Gospel Ministries, Evangelist Helen Ukpabio, has accused Prophet Joshua of being a fake miracle worker. In a latest interview with a soft sell magazine, Evangelist Ukpabio was quoted as saying the Prophet was made wealthy by demons and warned people not to take his predictions seriously.

The question is: to what end is this latest attack on TB Joshua by Evangelist Ukpabio? Is it right for religious leaders to leave the mandate of soul-winning to focus on personal difference?

Lady Gaga shaves off section of her hair

It seems like a new celeb reveals a drastic new haircut every day, and tonight is all about Lady Gaga. But this singer didn't do it just for the thrill or to jazz up her usual 'do, she did it for a friend.

"I did it for u Terry," she tweeted, linking to her blog. "I'm sorry about ure mommy. She has princess die, but were all princess high."

The photo shows the back of (at least what we think is) Gaga's head, with her hair pulled up into a high bun, revealing a triangular section of her hair shaven off.

Is Chris Brown's new tattoo supposed to be a battered Rihanna?

The image, on the singer's neck, looks to some like Brown's former girlfriend Rihanna, who was assaulted by Brown in 2009.  Brown's neck tattoo is of a woman's face that is marked in ways that could represent injuries -- three slashes through her lips, what appears to be a black eye, other marks that could be bruises. But the markings are decorative enough that it's unclear whether the face is meant to represent an actual abused woman.

After she was assaulted by Brown, a photo taken of Rihanna's injured face was circulated online, and many are making comparisons between that image and the tattoo.

"sources close to Brown" who tell the website the image is not meant to be Rihanna, but is instead "a random women."
