Disney Should Produce Guy Cartoons - Sally Kohn

So yes, it's high time that we have a Disney movie in which a princess marries a princess. And a prince marries a prince. And a plumber marries a schoolteacher — for crying out loud, why must everyone be royal and rich?!

But of course I want to see children's films go a step further and actively reflect the full, positive diversity of families in America today -- including gay families like mine. After all, we're talking about Hollywood -- land of the gays and those who love them! Is this really too much to ask? Gay rights are sweeping the globe, supported morally and politically by an overwhelming majority of Americans.........Sally Kohn

HIV-Positive Student Videotaped Himself Having Sex With 31 People

According to prosecutors, a 22-year-old college student secretly filmed himself having unprotected sex with as many as 31 people, knowingly exposing them to HIV.

In October, Michael Johnson, a student and former wrestler at Lindenwood University in Missouri, was charged with five felony counts of exposing partners to HIV. Some time later, police discovered the sex tapes—reportedly filmed with hidden cameras—stored on Johnson's laptop. Prosecutors disclosed the discovery on Friday.

"On that laptop were 32 videos engaged in sexual acts with Mr. Johnson," said Tim Lohmar, a St. Charles County prosecutor, told KMOV, adding that the tapes showed Johnson having sex with 31 partners over four months in his dorm at Lindenwood.

Lohmar also said that it's unlikely the partners knew about Johnson's HIV positive status.

Johnson, known online as Tiger Mandingo, met his partners—most of whom, if not all, were men—through his six social media accounts (three Facebook pages, two Twitter feeds, a Vine and an Instagram), according to the River Front Times.

If convicted, Johnson faces life in prison.

B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G News!!! 38 Gay Men Arrested In Bauchi by the Police

POLICE across Nigeria have begun arresting lesbians and gays following President Goodluck Jonathan's recent signing into law of a new Draconian bill that makes being homosexual an offence punishable for 14 years in jail.

Earlier this month, President Jonathan put his signature to the controversial Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Bill into law. Condemned internationally as a fundamental breach of human rights, the law stipulates that anyone convicted of engaging in a same sex marriage is liable to serve 14 years in prison, while anyone aiding or abetting such relationships faces a 10 year jail term.

Human rights groups like Amnesty International have widely condemned the law as an infraction of Nigeria's human rights obligations and gay rights campaigners plan to picket Nigeria's high commissions and embassies worldwide.
Also, the campaigners are calling on Nigeria's trading partners to boycott Nigerian goods and spurn tourism with the country. Defiant, however, the Nigerian authorities have stepped up their campaign against homosexuals and so far this week, the police in Bauchi have arrested 38 people suspected of being gay.

It is likely that they will be charged under the new law in what will be a controversial trial attracting international attention.

Jack Bauer Is Back As New Series Of 24 Is Announced

At a conference in California it was confirmed Kiefer Sutherland will reprsie his role as the special agent for a new 12-epsiode series set and shot in London.

Using the tag-line ‘Live Another Day’, FOX producers told the audience at 2014 Television Critics Association Press Tour it picks up events four years on, with Bauer evading the FBI.

The hugely-successful show, which ran for 192 episodes between 2001 and 2010, had a distinctive real-time format, with interweaving plotlines and a countdown towards the heroic counter-terrorist saving the day, making it an iconic piece of television.

But Sutherland, 47, admitted to being nervous about bringing 24 back.

“I’m about as anxious and wound up as I’ve been in a long time,” he said.

“There’s a great impetus for all of us to create something new with the show.”

Filming in the capital will take place in February, but the actor is not expecting a warm welcome, telling the conference: “I’m sure we’ll be hated by a large portion of London for snarling up their traffic here and there, and for that I apologise in advance.”

The jiggery pokery of CAF in crowning Yaya Toure instead of our very own prodigy John Obi Mikel is a veritable bugaboo that must be pooh-poohed by all compos mentis homo sapiens! The perfidy and Mendacity of all the apparatchic of sports suzerainty is not only repugnant but also insalubrious! I said to my self: What an anathematous disdain of the citizenry! Nigerian leader signs law banning gay marriage

Nigeria’s president has signed a law that bans same-sex marriage and criminalizes homosexual associations, societies and meetings, with penalties of up to 14 years in jail.

The Associated Press obtained a copy of the Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act on Monday that was signed by President Goodluck Jonathan and dated Jan. 7.

It was unclear why the law’s passage has been shrouded in secrecy. The copy obtained from the House of Representatives in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, showed it was signed by those lawmakers and senators on Dec. 17, though no announcement was made.

Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday the United States was “deeply concerned” by a law that “dangerously restricts freedom of assembly, association, and expression for all Nigerians.”

It is now a crime to have a meeting of gays, or to operate or go to a gay club, society or organization.

“If that bill passes, it will be illegal for us to even be holding this conversation,” Olumide Makanjuola, executive director of the Initiative For Equality in Nigeria told AP in a recent interview.

The new law says, “A person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies or organizations, or directly or indirectly makes public show of same-sex amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offense and is liable on conviction to a term of 10 years.”

Anyone convicted of entering into a same-sex marriage contract or civil union faces up to 14 years’ imprisonment.

Nigeria already has a law inherited from British colonizers that makes homosexual sex illegal in the West African nation. In the areas in Nigeria’s north where Islamic Shariah law is enforced, gays and lesbians can face death by stoning. And in northern Nigeria, where Islamic Shariah law is enforced, gays and lesbians can be stoned to death.

Makanjuloa said those who will suffer most under the law are poor gay Nigerians. Many rich ones already have left the country, or say they will fly elsewhere to have sex, she said.

The court of the European Union recently ruled that laws such as that passed in Nigeria could provide grounds for political asylum.

A spokesman for the British High Commission in Nigeria said “The U.K. opposes any form of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation.”

The spokesman, traditionally not identified by name, echoed Kerry’s concerns about freedom of expression, saying the law “infringes upon fundamental rights of expression and association which are guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution and by international agreements to which Nigeria is a party.”

The British government recently threatened to cut aid to African countries that violate the rights of gay and lesbian citizens. However, British aid remains quite small in oil-rich Nigeria, one of the top crude suppliers to the U.S.

There has been no real opposition to the law among Nigerians, generally highly religious and conservative where Christian, Muslim or bound to traditional mores, who appear united in their belief that homosexuality is unnatural and evil.

Nigerians are the least tolerant nation when it comes to gays, with 98 percent surveyed saying society should not accept homosexuality, according to a study of 39 nations by the U.S. Pew Research Center.

Nigeria’s law does not contain a previous proposal making it obligatory for anyone knowing a homosexual to report that person to authorities, or face up to seven years in jail. That would have included a parent or friend of a homosexual.

And it is not as draconian as a Ugandan bill approved by parliament in December and awaiting the signature of President Yoweri Museveni. It provides punishment of life in prison for “aggravated” homosexual sex involving someone infected with HIV, a minor or disabled person.

The president of Gambia has said homosexuals should be decapitated.

Some 38 African countries — about 70 percent of the continent — criminalize homosexual activity, Amnesty International said in a report released last year.

When Nigerians with minority sexual orientations tried to give evidence last year in debate in the House of Assembly, they were heckled and booed until one broke into tears, and another could not be heard.

A statement by the Nigerian Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexual and Intersex Diaspora to legislators urged them not to make them refugees.

Criminalizing same-sex relationships “turns us into asylum seekers in other countries,” it said. “We visit home with trepidation because at home we have to live a life full of lies and deny who we are for us to be accepted. Why do we want to keep subjecting our citizens to such psychological and emotional torture?”

Nigerian Farouk Abdulmutallab’s Life Sentence Upheld By U.S. Court

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian man who tried to set off an explosive hidden in his underwear while aboard a U.S. airliner on Christmas Day in 2009, on Monday had his life sentence upheld by a federal appeals court.

The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected arguments by Abdulmutallab, known as the underwear bomber, that the trial judge erred by letting him represent himself despite doubt about his competency and by admitting incriminating statements he made without having first been read his rights.

It also rejected Abdulmutallab’s argument that the life sentence was cruel and unusual punishment.
Travis Rossman, a lawyer for the defendant, had no immediate comment, his office said.

The case is U.S. v. Abdulmutallab, 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, No. 12-1207.

DELSUTH Completes First Historic Kidney Transplant

The Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara has recorded what is still considered a rare feat in the medical field in Nigeria with the successful kidney transplant, a government release announced on Monday.

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, a Medical Doctor who was among the medical team in the theatre during the operation, had last year assured Deltans shortly after a pace maker implantation that there will be kidney transplant in the hospital this year.

Speaking to journalists in Oghara Monday, Governor Uduaghan expressed satisfaction that the transplant was a success stating that it was another medical breakthrough for the hospital.

This is a happy day for me as we are able to provide this service,” the Governor said, adding, “I know we were well prepared for this surgery and we also have a good post surgery team.”

He disclosed that, “the hospital is overflowing with patients, so we are planning to expand bed facilities by putting up a three hundred bed ward for this hospital,” adding that the DELSUTH has gone into a five year partnership with UT South-Western Medical Centre, Dallas.

“We have a five year training agreement with them to build infrastructure and human capacity,” Dr Uduaghan said about the medical team, stating, “What they will be charging here will be far lower than what obtains anywhere else in the world.’ Continuing he added, ‘about two years ago, we started subsidizing dialysis in this hospital and brought it down from twenty two thousand Naira to five thousand Naira, the subsidy is mainly for Deltans.”

The Chief Medical Director of DELSUTH, Dr Leslie Akporiaye said the kidney transplant was a new innovation in the hospital disclosing that the operation lasts just a few hours.

“A lot of preparation has been on with the provision of necessary facilities, training and observation in Dallas and here in Oghara by staff of DELSUTH.”

He added that this was the beginning of more of such surgeries that will take place in the hospital.

Recall that the hospital had earlier carry out hip-bone and knee cap replacement surgeries.

A second kidney transplant operation will be performed at the hospital on Tuesday, the release added.

Mali 2-1 Nigeria: Salami goal not enough for Super Eagles

Nigeria kicked off their debut African Nations Championship campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Mali at the Cape Town Stadium in Group A's second fixture.

Goals from Abdoulaye Sissoko and Adama Traore were all Les Aigles needed to beat Stephen Keshi's men who got their lone goal through a header from substitute Gbolahan Salami.

Djibril DramĂ©’s men came into the game with the intention of avenging their defeat in the hands of the Super Eagles and also to record their first win in the history of the competition.

The game took off on a competitive note with both sides battling for possession but it was the French-speaking West Africans that signified their intentions early through Ibourahima Sidibe who was adjudged offside.

Nigeria looked like strangers on the field of play as Mali took total control of the match and in the process piled pressure on the Super Eagles defence. Goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim punched Abdoulaye Sissoko’s corner kick into the waiting hands of Lassana Diarra, but his efforts was cleared by Azubuike Egwuekwe.

The Malian dominance paid off in the 18th minute when impressive Sissoko got the curtain raiser. The striker profited from a moment of carelessness from Nigeria's defence as he capitalised on Egwekwe’s deflection to thunder the ball past a hapless Agbim .

Mali continued to dominate and could have gone two goals up but Agbim was able to save Diarra’s missile outside the penalty area.

Nigeria's best chance came in the 33rd minute after Ugonna Uzochukwu was brought down in the danger zone of the Malians. The resulting free kick was saved by goalkeeper Soumaila Diakite.

Les Aigles provided strong resistance in the closing stages of the first half as Keshi’s men continued the chase for an equaliser, though they lacked cohesion in midfield.

On resumption of the second half, Mali continued to pile more pressure on the Nigerians' defence and got an early corner in the process with Traore's delivery cleared off the line while Diarra's follow-up shot was blocked.

Mali doubled their advantage in the 50th minute when unmarked Adama Traore received a chip from Sidibe before firing the ball past Agbim from a very tight angle.

The goal seemed to waken the Nigerians from their slumber as they pulled a goal back through substitute  Salami in the 54th minute. The Shooting Stars striker flicked in a header from a cross off  Rabiu Ali's free kick. All efforts to level up scores proved  futile as Drame’s men looked resolute in defence.

Nigeria’s next game is against Mozambique on January 15 at the Cape Town Stadium. The Mambas lost their opening game against hosts South Africa 3-1 despite taking the lead.

UK and Nigeria sign prisoner-exchange deal

The UK and Nigeria have signed an agreement to allow the transfer of prisoners between the two countries.

It means citizens of one who commit crimes in the other will serve sentences in their homeland.

The UK government said it meant inmates could be "properly prepared for release into the community in which they will live following their release".

Both countries already have prisoner-transfer treaties in place with several other states.

The UK-Nigeria agreement was one of the objectives outlined by UK Prime Minister David Cameron and Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan following a meeting in 2011.

It is expected the first prisoner transfers will take place before the end of this year.

UK Justice Minister Jeremy Wright said: "Removing foreign national offenders is a key priority for the British government and the prisoner transfer agreement I signed this morning with the Nigerian attorney-general plays a significant role in supporting this.

"Both the United Kingdom and Nigeria have prisoner transfer arrangements with other countries and it is right that our two countries, which have such strong ties and shared interests, should develop our own arrangements.

"I strongly believe that this agreement will have significant benefits for both our countries."

Chelsea fan has the words 'John Obi Mikel' tattooed on his bum following the Nigerian midfielder's FA Cup goal against DerbyChelsea fan has the words 'John Obi Mikel' tattooed on his bum following the Nigerian midfielder's FA Cup goal against Derby

One Chelsea fan has somehow trumped the January transfer window with a spectacular promise that backfired when midfielder John Obi Mikel opened the scoring in the FA Cup third round victory over Derby.

Lee Mitchell made the brave promise that if Mikel scored, he would get either the Chelsea badge or Mikel’s name tattooed on his bum, safe in the knowledge that the Nigerian had scored just three goals in his seven-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge.

The tweet read: “If Mikel scores today I’ll get his name or the Chelsea badge tattooed on my ass.”

However, he forgot to do his homework, as two of those have come in the FA Cup, and Mikel rolled back the years to fire into the net for his third cup goal and condemn Lee to a trip to the tattoo studio.

Maybe it was the fact Mikel had done the unthinkable, but Lee chose to go with his name rather than the crest of his beloved Chelsea. Only he knows why.

The latest fulfilled promise comes after an Arsenal fan promised to cover himself in jam if Nicklas Bendtner scored against Cardiff City last month. Lo and behold, the Danish striker popped up to score just his second goal of the season, and soon enough James Stokes was pictured covered in jam.

While the jam (strawberry for the curious among you) can be washed off, we’re not so sure Lee is going to have the same luck with his tattoo.

30 Vital Things Your Future Self Will Thank You For

Few people I know knew they would be exactly where they are today. So how can we plan for our futures when they are so uncertain?

The answer is not to look at what we want or where we want to be in the future but rather, who we want to be.

After all, in life, the only person we can depend on for certain is ourselves. As much as we want to be able to rely on someone else wholeheartedly, sometimes they leave or change or even pass away.

Who you are in the future depends on what you do today. Here are 30 vital things you can do today that your future self will thank you for. Take this checklist and do each step thoroughly. Your life will line up like magic.

Get out paper and a pencil and lets change your life!

1. Agree to invest in yourself!

We spend so much time investing in relationships and this is a good thing. But we cannot forget that investment in ourselves is as important. Take some time now.

Going through this checklist step-by-step and doing each step thoroughly will set you up to move forward in life with focused energy.

2. Decide who you are.

I am not talking about taking on an identity such as one outlined by a career. Too many times we allow ourselves to be defined by our careers. This can be so much the case that when someone needs to change careers or retire, they lose their sense of self. This can be extremely destabilizing.

Knowing who the real you is gives you stability in life. If you are a good, honest, strong and ethical person, decide that right now. We are who we decide we are and are nothing else.

3. Be who you really are every day.

Now that you have decided who you are, simply make the decision that you will strive to be that person every day. Be the best of that person you can be. Understand that there are times that we all fall short of our ideals but a person who keeps at it is one who eventually succeeds.

If we fall short, understand that this is an area where more learning has to take place.

4. Decide what your values are and live them every day.

A person who has a strong set of beliefs and values is a happy and strong person. A person who does not have a clearly defined set of beliefs and values is tossed about in life like a tiny ship on an angry ocean. There is nothing certain to a person like this except the fact that he will be at the mercy of others.

Most of our values are similar. Things like keeping yourself strong and healthy, keeping your family well and protected, helping mankind and all living things, and caring for our environment are good areas to look at to see what your values are with regard to them.

Write down some of your values in these areas. Stick to them.

5. Decide what you want to be.

Here is where you get to start choosing identities.

So many of us have become dissatisfied with our careers over time and yet we feel we have to continue in that line of work. We have put so much time into it haven’t we? It would be crazy to start over again. Well, would it? Isn’t it more crazy to go on day after day completely dissatisfied? So what if your career didn’t work out the way you wanted it to?

Make a change. Decide what you want to be and get started. There is nothing as exciting as changing your career into exactly what you want it to be. There may be years of transition ahead but get started right now and never give up.

Write down what you want to be.

6. Measure your successes by your own definition of “success”

Everywhere we are bombarded with images of “success” we are told we are successful if we are thin, rich and have power. Well guess what? There are many people with all of those things and most of those people are completely miserable.

Success must be defined by your own ideas. Sit down and figure them out then get on the road toward THAT success.

Write down your definition of “success” that’s personal to you.

7. Make conscious choices about how you will be affected by the things that happen in life.

Life is completely random most of the time. That is what makes it a crazy, wild ride. The one thing we do have in life is choice. We can choose how things will affect us. Make a conscious choice when these things occur.

Recently I saw a quote from Nelson Mandela who had been imprisoned wrongly for 27 years. When he got out, he realized he could choose to be angry and bitter or he could choose to let it all go. He knew that if he chose anger, he would still be trapped in a prison that would continue forever. He chose to let it go and be free.

We all have that choice. It can be difficult but it is still a choice.

8. Seek forward progress on the path to your goals.

Realize that some goals may take years and others, a lifetime. Keep track of your forward progress and give yourself rewards for making it a little further on your path.

9. Always look forward. Never look back to try and change the past.

The path that you have been following may have been good or may have been bad, In either case, looking back and trying to change what has already occurred is a huge waste of time and energy. The more time and energy you invest in the future, the more your future will be what you make it.

10. Don’t stop learning!

Many of the most interesting and powerful people I know have changed careers several times in their lives. They are people who are constantly digging into and learning new fields and new skills. For this reason, when the opportunity arises for them to start a new career, they already have the skill set. Many of these people could change careers tomorrow and be successful because they have the skills in place.

Also realize that one must LEARN HOW TO LEARN. We are not talking about memorizing a bunch of facts and spitting them out on a test. I am talking about taking in information, understanding it and being able to apply it in your life.

In order to do this, you must understand the specific words used in the subject you are studying. If you don’t understand each and every word in the subject, you will not be able to understand the subject enough to use the information you have learned. Get a good dictionary and make it your best friend while studying anything. Look up ANY word you do not fully understand. This will also improve your vocabulary and communication.

Write down the subjects you need to study in order to have the career you want.

11. Break your goal down into mini goals that lead to your big goal.

When you do this, give each mini goal a target date for completion. Let’s say you want to be a professional chef. One mini goal would be to sign up for and start culinary school. Give that mini goal a date when you will actually start your classes.

Figure out and write down your first mini goals. Give each one a target date for completion.

12. Don’t back away from needed changes.

As you progress toward your goals, there are changes that you will need to make in life in order to achieve what you want. When you get to those points where change must occur, understand that they are scary but don’t hesitate to make them. If you have done the previous steps well, you have already identified the changes that need to occur. Go ahead and make them!

13. Get rid of clutter in your life.

This type of clutter I call “Life Clutter” This is the clutter you have with unfinished projects, communication, old regrets and the like. If you have a lot of unfinished projects and they are important, finish them.

Give each one a target date and get them done. Pay any old bills, call your mom, handle anything that you have attention on in your life. Anything in the past that you cannot change, ignore.

14. Don’t do anything you disagree with.

All through life, there are people who will pressure you for whatever reason to do things that you simply don’t agree with. They have all kinds of “good reasons” but the bottom line is that if they are not your reasons, don’t do it. You will regret it and pay for it in lost time, and energy repairing situations that would have been fine if you had kept to your own ideas.

15. Create good habits.

Apply discipline in the areas that you have waste. If you waste time playing video games when you should be getting ready for work, schedule your video games for later in the day and give yourself a set amount of time to play them.

If you drink or smoke too much or eat bad food, get yourself on a path to get those things handled. You don’t have to handle them all at once but choose the one that you feel is most important and handle that. Then go after the others.

16. Do the things that successful people do.

Look at what you have decided to be. Find a person who has been successful in that field and find out what that person did or does on a daily basis. Make a list. The only difference between success and failure is the willingness to identify and DO the things that make someone successful.

Write down the things you need to DO to be what you want to be.

17. Focus on important projects and let all others go.

When I was raising my kids, I was a stressed out mom. I was working full time and my husband traveled. In addition, I was trying to take on way too many projects that got me no closer to any goal. If I could speak to my past self, I would say “Cut out the things that stress you out. If you can’t do the PTA or the choir right now, don’t! Your kids will be grown and you will have time later. Also don’t make the getting of a future goal so important that you neglect the present.”

The most important project I had was raising my kids. I did it but I did not enjoy it except for the few times when I only focused on them. Enjoy the present.

18. Choose well who you would take with you on your path in life.

Choice of the wrong partner or friends who tear you down, whether outright or covertly will ruin you. I don’t say that lightly and I have years of anecdotal, personal information that can back it up from here to Venus.

If there is someone in your life who makes you feel less or trashes your dreams, get them off your path. Their path is way different from yours and it leads down. You will not do well with them constantly trying to divert you.

19. Learn to handle people correctly.

Most of the time you can handle people by admiring them and giving them lots of compassion and communication. Making people wrong is highly ineffective most of the time.

Learn to grant people the right to be themselves no matter how much you might disagree with them. People come in all kinds of funny packaging. Look past it to the person inside.

20. Find areas of agreement with people.

When you meet a person, look for something in that person with which you agree. In some people it may be difficult but there is always something! Once you find it, comment on it.  For example, tell your waitress that you like her necklace. This is the first step on starting a communication with her.

21. Identify damaged relationships and repair them.

We all have relationships that have gone wrong. We can either regret their wrongness or work to repair them. I believe that unless the other person is completely nuts, I can repair any relationship.

The simplest way I know to put a relationship back on track is to simply tell the person you are sorry something went off and you want to start over. This gives you both a basis for agreement on which you can build a new relationship.

22. Don’t agree with scarcities in money.

There are so many people who will tell you that in order go have something, you need to deny yourself something else. That is a fat lie. You do not necessarily have to bag lunch it every day in order to save up to buy something. What you have to do is go out and create more money.

There are a million ways to do it over and above a day job where your salary is limited. If getting money is a problem, start looking at alternative ways of getting it legally and morally, and go create some. Make it a game. It is actually quite fun! Scarcities are created by those who profit from scarcity. Don’t fall for it. Go create abundance.

23. Don’t agree with scarcities in time.

When something is important, you can make the time to do it. It may not be easy in some cases. One can ALWAYS scrape out a tiny bit of time to use to move forward on a goal. The steps forward do not have to be big or taken all at once but they do have to move you forward to some slight degree. Do something every day to move you forward.

24. Get rid of clutter in your environment.

Physical clutter takes time and attention. You have to move it, dust it, care for it and worse yet, every material item you own traps a little bit of your attention. Get rid of the things you don’t want or need. Attention is what drives you forward. Free up as much of it as you can.

25. Don’t be afraid of changes in life.

The key to going through life with confidence is education on the things you will be facing. There is information everywhere. At the click of a mouse you can have more information at your fingertips than is available in any university in the world.

How do you know the information is correct? The answer is simple. Just ask yourself, “When I applied it, did it work?” if the answer is yes, it is correct. If it is no, than either you didn’t do it right or it is wrong. Get good information. Then make the needed changes.

26. Look for opportunities to help others every day.

It is in the service of others that we find our true selves. This is the grand secret of the universe. Hold the door open for someone. Ask your neighbor if they need assistance. Find ways to help others that align with your goal. That is the best way to make it a reality.

27. Let others help you.

Give those around you the opportunity to find themselves too. It makes people so happy to be allowed to help another. It does not create an obligation, it just builds good will.

28. Get your communications out to LOTS of people and work to maintain those communications.

We now have social media and it can be a great place to really get yourself known. Find like minded people on social media or in your community. Cultivate relationships and expand those as much as possible.

This takes work but is very important to help you achieve your goals. Any goal takes a certain amount of teamwork so start building your team, even if it is just a cheerleading squad.

29. Work to improve your communication skills.

Good clean communication saves time, energy and upset. Be aware of the things you say and how it affects other people. So much time is spent trying to iron out miscommunication or soothe hurt feelings. Clean up your communication. Say it in a way that will be received correctly by the person. Make sure they heard and acknowledge you.

Go out and look around you at the effects of bad communication. They are everywhere. Most of the ills in society today can be traced back to bad, unclear or altered communication.

If we all took full responsibility for our communication and made every effort to be understood, and worked to correct it if it was misunderstood, we would all be a whole lot happier. Study the subject of communication, it Is a subject and it does affect us every single moment of our lives.

30. Understand that wherever you are, you can always make a new start.

It is never too late and things are never too far gone. What you have done in the past is in the past and your future is what you make it. All you have to do is plot your course and go!

Good luck!

Man tries to sell stolen brains on eBay, police say

(CNN) -- This was not was your typical undercover sting.

For starters, it was happening at an Indiana Dairy Queen. And the target was brains. Yeah, a brain bandit.

The arrest last month of a 21-year-old suspect uncovered, police say, a macabre scheme to steal the brains of dead mental patients and sell them online. The suspect was peddling some 60 brains. And yes, amazingly there were customers. The arrest in this case also unearthed a few questions. We will try and answer them.

Where did the suspect get 60 brains?

Suspect David Charles allegedly stole more than 60 jars of brain and other human tissues in October from a warehouse space at the Indiana Medical History Museum, the Marion County prosecutor's office said in court papers Thursday. He is accused of breaking into the museum and taking jars of brains and tissue from autopsies performed on patients in the 1890s. Court documents said some jars were sold on the auction site eBay by a middleman, despite a company policy against listing "humans, the human body, or any human body parts or products."

Attempts to reach Charles by CNN on Thursday were unsuccessful. He declined to comment outside his Indianapolis home when approached by CNN affiliate WXIN.

What do you do with 60 brains?

Authorities allege that Charles was scheming to sell some of them, according to court documents. The alleged scheme began to unravel when the executive director of the museum, Mary Ellen Hennessey Nottage, received a call last month from a man in California who said he had purchased "six jars of brain matter" for $600 on eBay, according to court documents.

The man suspected the jars were stolen when he compared them to others on the museum website.

Nottage notified the police.

Charles was arrested December 16 after authorities organized an undercover sting. He was charged with felony theft and other charges.

He is to appear at an Indianapolis court this month in connection with the alleged theft of dozens of jars of preserved human brain tissue valued at about $4,800.

Is it common to purchase brains on eBay?

In the universe of bizarre items that Internet users sell on eBay, human organs are forbidden. To buy or sell them is a felony under federal law, and trading in illegal goods is a violation of eBay's rules.

The list of prohibited items includes Native American grave-related items such as skulls and skeletons intended for medical research, Tibetan prayer skulls, organs, bones, blood, waste products, body fluids and sperm.

Nottage said the California man who allegedly purchased the brains collected oddities.

"Apparently that's a trend that's building -- the macabre, the oddities," Nottage said. "The television reality show 'Oddities' illustrates that very well. I think it's indicative of people's collecting interests. It's definitely bizarre. It's infuriating that they do not have respect for the human remains."
