Falling out of favour with Jose Mourinho: Players

Juan Mata - cost £23.5m
Chelsea Players’ Player of the Year and the club’s Player of the Year for the second successive season, Mata could not have had a better season before Mourinho’s arrival. Now he cannot force his way into the first team at Stamford Bridge.

Iker Casillas - cost N/A
Once described by Mourinho as the best in the world, Casillas (pictured) was cast aside at Real Madrid by the Portuguese coach. Casillas reportedly fell out with Mourinho because he helped calm tensions between Spanish internationals at his club and at Barcelona after a series of fiery contests.

Sergio Ramos - cost £18m
According to reports, Ramos and Casillas issued an ultimatum to the club threatening to demand transfers if Mourinho was not removed from his post at the end of last season.

Pepe - cost £20m
Pepe was perhaps Mourinho’s greatest ally, but that changed after the Portugal defender expressed regret at the way the coach dropped Casillas. Mourinho then hit back, claiming Pepe's criticism of his management stemmed from the defender's frustration at losing his place to 20-year-old Raphaël Varane.

Kaka - cost £56m
The Brazilian midfielder was a bench player who was rarely called upon by Mourinho. Since his transfer back to AC Milan, Kaka said: "It wasn't Mourinho's fault that I didn't get to play. I tried to earn his confidence over the years but he just had other ideas."

Cristiano Ronaldo - cost £80m
Mourinho claimed his compatriot "maybe thinks that he knows everything and that the coach cannot improve him any more." The coach also claimed the "real Ronaldo" was the former Brazil striker.
