The game started with the Ethiopians playing in high tempo trying to get the early goal but the super eagle’s defence kept calm and handled the pressure briliantly.
The Ethiopians kept pilling on the pressure and seemed to have had a breakthrough when Saladin Saed controlled the ball well in the 18 yard spot and shoot pass Enyeama but Oboabona was in tune to save the day.
The first half ended with the Wayla antelopes in full posession and attacking the Eagles defence.
During the second half, Ethiopia scored the most unlikely of goals as Assefa’s cross just sails into the goal before Enyeama caught it.
Refree judged the ball to have the line. Enyeama jugded to have caught the ball in his net.
But 10 minutes later Emenike silenced the crowd with a strong effort from outside the box to make it 1-1.
And as the game continued the Eagles kept having chances to increase the scoreline with Musa hiting the woodwork
But then in the 88 minute Emenike was pulled down by the ethiopian defence in the 18 yard box and the refree gave Nigeria the penalty.
The fenerbace striker calmly walked up and scored the goal to give Nigeria put Nigeria in a strong position ahead of the return leg in November in Abuja.
