Sunshine Stars players and officials were involved in a fatal accident on Friday evening on their way from Ijebu Ode where they have been camping ahead their 2014 Nigeria Premier League opener with Enyimba of Aba.
Goal gathered that the crash occurred in Ore , a settlement very close to Ondo town . Though no death was recorded, six players of the Akure Gunners were reported to have been hospitalized while four of the side’s officials sustained minor injuries.
The 2011 Caf Champions League campaigners have been on a one month camping exercise to improve on last season’s performance where they failed in their quest to secure a ticket in any of 2014 Caf’s clubs competitions.
